Directed by Mani Ratnam, Raavan was a modern-day adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana. With a budget of around 125 crores, the film had high expectations attached to it. However, it failed to impress both critics and audiences. The confusing narrative and lack of chemistry between the lead actors, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, were the main reasons behind its failure.
