Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Bombay Velvet was a period crime drama set in the 1960s. With a budget of around 120 crores, it was one of the most expensive Bollywood films at that time. Despite having a star-studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, the film failed to connect with the audience. The convoluted plot and slow pace were major turn-offs for the viewers.
