Bollywood has always been the source of some memorable films which have made a place in our hearts but let us not kid ourselves — there are also Bollywood movies that can make you tear your hair out. Cringy dialogues, over-the-top performance or just the plot is a joke that seems like somebody played it on you: these are movies so bad there should be another category for them. So for all of you hate-watchers out there, consider this list your Holy Grail.
Bheja Fry Bollywood Movies that will give you Absolute Torture
1: Himmatwala (2013)
Why It Tortures: The 2013 redo of the 1983 staple is an exercise in how not to do a reboot. It suffers from over-the-top schmaltzy acting to lame jokes that would seem outdated 40 years prior. Not even Ajay Devgn could rescue this disaster.
Torture Meter: 9/10
2: Humshakals (2014)
Why It Tortures: Directed by Sajid Khan, Humshakals is both an unfunny comedy and a bore. This movie is torture, with a nonsensical plot and cringe-worthy acting.
Torture Meter: 10/10
3: Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007)
Why It Tortures: Probably a no-brainer, when you fuck up the remake of a classic like Sholay this badly it deserves to be on such a list. Aman is bad, but Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag hurts.
Torture Meter: 11/10
4: Tees Maar Khan (2010)
Why It Hurts: Tees Maar Khan, despite having a big star like Akshay Kumar just does not work. The plot makes no sense and the jokes are terrible, all of which make The Haunting Of Sharon Tate a painful watch.
Torture Meter: 8/10
5: Race 3 (2018)
Too bad — it only tortures the audience (The Race franchise nosedived with Race 3). It is a heavily plothole-ridden, poor dialogue-laden mess of a movie with terrible performances. Not even the star power of Salman Khan could save this trainwreck.
Torture Meter: 9/10
6: Mela (2000)
Why It Tortures: This movie belongs to the era of Khan yet Mela is one helluva bizarre film. The film is filled with over-the-top nonsense, a badly strung-together plot and some truly uninspiring music.
Torture Meter: 10/10
7: Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani (2002)
Many reviewers reckon this is the worst Indian movie ever.
Why It Tortures: And just when you thought Indian cinema couldn’t possibly be more cringe-worthy, Jaani Dushman is right here to show you otherwise. It comes off as some odd combination of horror, drama and fantasy — all horrendously realized.
Torture Meter: 11/10
8: Love Story 2050 (2008)
Why It Hurts: This isn’t sci-fi romance, and this has been done a million times before.SetFloatyleft”Why Why It Tortures You: Sci-Fi Romance that’s all neither…. Nothing works — not the laughable special effects, messy story or amateur acting. Love Story 2050 is a movie that offers you misery from beginning to conclude
Torture Meter: 9/10
9: Ra.One (2011)
Why It Tortures: A magnum opus with a heavy price and expectations, Ra. Sadly one was extremely disappointing. Despite being ahead of its time as far as VFX is concerned, the story and performances were anything but timely.
Torture Meter: 8/10
10: Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015)
Why It Tortures: More popular for its lavish sets than the story, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is an elaborate yet dull melodramatic situation that tries your limits.
Torture Meter: 7/10
