The Conjuring Plot Summary:
In “The Conjuring,” horror movie the Perron family moves into an old farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island, in 1971. Shortly after moving in, they experience disturbing supernatural events: clocks stop at 3:07 AM, strange noises are heard, and their dog is found dead. Terrified, Carolyn Perron contacts renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren for help. The Warrens discover that the house has a dark history and that a witch named Bathsheba cursed the land in the 19th century, sacrificing her child to the devil before committing suicide. The curse causes anyone who lives on the property to experience violent hauntings.
As the hauntings intensify, the Warrens realize that Bathsheba’s spirit has possessed Carolyn, intending to kill her children. To save the family, the Warrens perform an exorcism. During the exorcism, Carolyn nearly kills her daughter April, but Ed successfully expels Bathsheba’s spirit, freeing Carolyn. The family is finally safe, and the Warrens take a memento from the house, adding it to their collection of haunted objects. The movie ends with a hint of another case for the Warrens, suggesting their work against evil continues.
