Scream Plot Summary:
In “Scream,” horror movie the quiet town of Woodsboro is shaken by the brutal murder of a high school student named Casey Becker. The killer, dressed in a ghostly mask and black robe, taunts his victims with horror movie trivia before attacking them. The next target is Sidney Prescott, a high school girl still grieving the murder of her mother a year earlier. Sidney receives a threatening phone call and narrowly escapes an attack by the masked killer. The town is put on high alert as the killings continue, and suspicion falls on various people, including Sidney’s boyfriend, Billy Loomis, and other friends.
As the body count rises, Sidney, along with her friends and a determined reporter named Gale Weathers, tries to uncover the killer’s identity. They eventually discover that there are two killers: Billy and his friend Stu Macher. Billy reveals that he killed Sidney’s mother because she had an affair with his father, which caused his parents’ separation. Sidney fights back and, with the help of Gale and a local deputy named Dewey Riley, manages to outwit and kill both Billy and Stu. The movie ends with Sidney and the survivors dealing with the aftermath, while the town begins to recover from the horrific events.
