Born on January 8, 1990, in Kolkata, West Bengal, Nusrat Jahan is an Indian movie actress and politician. Her debut in the Bengali film industry was with “Shotru” (2011) and she has appeared in pivotal roles in films such as “Khiladi,” “Crisscross” and “Asur.” In 2019, she entered politics, winning a seat in the Basirhat constituency as a candidate for the Trinamool Congress.
Nusrat had tied the knot with businessman Nikhil Jain in Turkey in June 2019. But she later said the marriage, under Indian law, was invalid and described the relationship as a live-in relationship. She later went on to date actor Yash Dasgupta, married on 2020, with whom she had a son named Yishaan J. Dasgupta in August 2021. Nusrat confirmed their marriage in February 2022, which had occurred in 2020.
Nusrat was honored in 2022 with a “Mahanayika” award for her contributions in both cinema and public service.
