Top Blockbuster Movies rejected by Samantha Ruth Prabhu
While Samantha Ruth Prabhu has made some well-thought decisions in her career, she also said no to few films which went on to be blockbusters. These decisions were driven by announcing facts, including scheduling conflicts, health issues and personal responsibilities. Here is a selection of films she passed on, especially notable ones:
Yevadu (2014)
Samantha was also first cast as the love interest of Ram Charan’s character Manju. However, owing to health concerns, she had to walk out of the project after completing a single schedule. Shruti Haasan later stepped in to fill the part.
I (2015)
This romantic thriller starring Vikram in the lead was directed by S. Shankar. Samanthawas offered the female lead but declined the role citingpersonal issues. Amy Jackson was eventually cast instead.
Bruce Lee: The Fighter (2015)
Samantha was offered the lead female role opposite Ram Charan, but could not take it up due to prior commitments. Rakul Preet Singh replaced her to play the part.
Pushpa: The Rise (2021)
Samantha was said to be the original front runner for the female lead in this Allu Arjun starrer. She turned it down, and Rashmika Mandanna was cast instead.
Dasara (2023)
Nani’s first choice for the female lead of Vennela was Samantha, but she did not take on the role, and Keerthy Suresh was then cast.
Jawan (2023)
Zee’s till now secret names etched on the files have been revealed now, where Samantha was offered to play the female lead Narmada Rai Rathore the head of Force One and wife of Azad Rathore (Shah Rukh Khan) in Atlee’s movie. She declined due to personal commitments and Nayanthara was cast instead. The movie went to earn over Rs. 1,148 crore worldwide.
Kadal (2013)
Samantha was considered for a role, that of the female lead in this Mani Ratnam-directed film. She declined, and the part went to Thulasi Nair.
That Is Mahalakshmi
The Hindi movie “Queen” was the first choice for Telugu remake with Samantha She declined, and Tamannaah Bhatia was cast in her place.
