2Drishyam (2015)
Ajay Devgn and Tabu are excellent in this mystery thriller about a manwho can do anything to save his family from the wrath of law after someone commits crime. The film is regarded as an intelligent thriller and keeps the viewer hooked till the end, a feature adapted from its Malayalam source material of which Drishyam was made into Hindi.
3Talaash (2012)
Talaash: The Answer Lies Within – Starring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji & Kareena Kapoor Talaash is a psychological thriller that takes you through the supernatural while it deals with grief and redemption. Whether exposing his subjects as hypocrites or letting them off the hook entirely, opting for revisionist hagiography over a truly damning expose of one Hollywood’s darkest hours – this film is far too surreal and bizarre to exist amongst most other relatively normal mystery thrillers.
4Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997)

7Ittefaq (2017)
A modern-day adaptation of the groundbreaking Yash Chopra film, Ittefaq features Sidharth Malhotra (pictured left along with Sinha), Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna. The movie unfolds as two diametrically opposite murder accounts where the audience is left to infer and discern what actually happened. A must-watch, thanks to its lean storytelling and well-performed acting.
8Badla (2019)
This gripping mystery thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh with Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu will keep you hooked right from the start as a businesswoman must clear her name of murder charges! A slow-paced, oppressively tense film: the truth behind this bizarre series of events is only uncovered one facet at a time – but it reels you in from start to finish.
9Rahasya (2015)
Based on a real-life murder, Rahasya is an old-fashioned whodunit that involves the death of a young girl. Kay Kay was awesome as always and Tisca Choprawas one heck of a revelation.The plot is gripping enough too.
10Ugly (2013)
Ugly Directed By Anurag Kashyap The film Ugly follows the story of a missing child and exposes the very dark side within human nature. Its gripping storyline and the convincing performances by children leave you intrigued as the mystery unravels.
11Karthik Calling Karthik (2010)
Karthik Calling Karthik – Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone star in this psychological thriller about an introvert who begins to receive intimidating phone calls on the regular. The different storyline of the movie and unique twists make it interesting to watch.
12Darr @ the Mall (2014)
Jimmy Sheirgill led a cameo in this horror-mystery film which is based on the happenings of mysterious death due to haunting inside an abandoned mall. Darr @ the Mall blends some elements from both genres serving chilling scenes to keep you engrossed.
13Manorama Six Feet Under (2007)
A trailer for this film, a neo-noir thriller inspired by the classicfilm Chinatown, starring AbhayDeol. The amateur detective moves to a small town and begins untangling the web of lies in this movie. Its storyline is quite complex and atmospheric to a certain degree which really makes it an impressive mystery.
14No. 13B: Fear Has a New Address (2009)
13B: Starring R. Madhavan, 13 B is a horror-mystery film about a family living in their new apartment that starts witnessing mysterious and supernatural events around them. The movie so deftly plants horror in a who-done-it the viewers remain riveted with suspense at how this even came to be.
15Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015)
The film is directed by Dibakar Banerjee and it features Sushant Singh Rajput as Byomkesh Bakshy based on fictional detective created by writer Bengali Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. A stylish mystery tribute to the detective genre, set in 1940s Calcutta.
